Hi K-Real, This looks like a cynical cover up to me. The job has not been done properly however I do understand your position. It is clear that Metricon's customers are put under pressure at hand over time to accept errors in construction compared to their contract plans, shoddy workmanship and 'on the fly' work arounds. This is systemic of he company's practices. I feel this practice constitutes unconscionable behaviour and should be reported to the Australian Consumer and Competition Commission for their investigation, irrespective of whether you unwillingly accept it or not. Norfolk.
That's very sloppy! Just tell Metricon you want it done properly. If they don't agree then lodge a dispute with them, per the dispute process in the contract. If after this there is no resolution register with NSW Fair Trading for an inspection and on site mediation. If the inspector agrees with you they will issue an order for Metricon to correct it. I suggest you also check other things on your build carefully and include them on the same formal dispute if necessary.
