The photos are garage but still failed to comply. My site manager agreed and said would get bricklayer to fill the joints pre plaster but we know that didn’t happen…

Hi all.
We had an inspection for pre plaster stage and some areas were noted to not meet the minimum standard where there were a number of inadequately filled mortar joints…

We had the choice to choose our own but we went with the one they use and left it to them to organise that. They did give us the option…

That they do. We are at contract stage and are trying to fight this but they don't seem to want to budge on this and wont remove it from contract...

I should have had darbecca review mine. The people that did have not been helpful at all. Told us it was a breach and consumer affairs were involved but not…

Nope that’s not right it’s within his rights to have them. Consumer affairs website will tell you that. They can’t stop it

It’s a new ‘administration free’ according to them and because they are a ‘volume builder’ they cannot alter the contract....

Well I don't plan to pay a lawyer just get some advice. Which some offer.
I will see what happens.. we aren't in a position to easily change builders.

I know. They have agreed to obtain engineering, soil tests etc before we agree to sign the contract and everything else they have been reasonable about.
They are calling this charge…

What do people think about my builder adding a clause into the HIA contract to charge us $250 per stage inspection to have independent inspectors.
While the are not stopping us…
