The need for Solar to strengthen global position
To keep up with the rest of the world; Australia needs to ‘up the ante’ by growing the solar energy production and the use of renewable power systems within the next five years, due to our underdeveloped industry.
Discussions were underway earlier this month at the solar industry conference, where Matthew Warren, a member of the Clean Energy Council mentioned that not only are we as a nation are falling behind, but also need our current local solar power innovators to continue with new developments, projects and advancements. By providing a large emphasis on such, Australia as a whole, is able to also develop on the current skills, knowledge and ideas into the solar energy industry.
With Australia’s high potential for solar energy production, it is only a matter of time before the industry booms, based on the knowledge and information provided to the industry, as well as the general consumers. We are slowing developing the industry with a number or solar power projects incorporated with a $1.5 billion government funding initiative – but this amount is nothing compared to the likes of international governments – where in the US their funding is $US12 billion.
To achieve this, it is urged to the Australian government to provide additional funding as well as the need to provide policy environment to be able to facilitate investment in large-scale solar projects, in addition to pass on reductions to the nation.
