Moving Tips
By Quick Pick Movers|February 01, 2015
One of the best things you can do when you’re moving is to have a checklist. This is important as it will save a lot of time and wasted energy. It will help you stay organised and will ensure you don’t forget anything.
To start with organise what you want to keep and what you don’t need any more and want to get rid of. You could have a garage sale or sell items on eBay so you could make some extra money from your move and help as it will minimise the amount you will be moving.
Next try to minimise the amount of groceries you buy leading up to the move so you’re not moving too many perishables.
You will also need to organise disconnections and reconnections of your utilities.
You’re pets need to be taken care of so make sure you have arranged their travel requirements.
Notify friends and family of your new address and contact details and organise any redirection of mail or change of address for banking, other utilities and correspondence.
Arrange cleaners if necessary.
Speak to your moving company to discuss moving requirements for heavy or awkward items.
Check with your moving company for storage arrangements if you need to store anything.
