- Check their online reviews. Although not 100% accurate (nearly every business in existance has a bad online reveiw or two, usually from a competitor or unreasonable customer), they are nonetheless a good way to gauge the opinion of the majority of people who have used a companies services. Check reviews in a few different places: Facebook, Google Plus, One Flare, Yellow Pages.
- Talk to the company in person. While it's easy these days to do an entire transaction online, talking to someone over the phone is a good way to gain their trust and assess their customer service. The level of customer care provided will be clear if you are speaking to someone who is polite, helpful and willing to talk to you - essential attributes for your removalist to have.
- Get a detailed quote. One of the most common complaints people have with their removalists, is being hit with hidden costs once the move is underway. You can clear up any confusion with cost by having a detailed quote outlining all possible additional charges, ie. storage, weight limits, time limits.
- Do your research. When comparing quotes, look at the variables before making your choice. With container removals companies you will find that your quote will differ from company to company for:
- Included weight limits (you will pay extra beyond what is quoted if your container goes overweight)
- Included loading / unloading time you have the container for
- Storage costs (if required), can differ hugely between different companies
- Packing equipment included free of charge
