Calculating your costs when moving interstate
Self pack removals (also known as DIY removals or shipping container removals) are a great way to save money and gain some autonomy over your move. They occupy a happy medium between a complete DIY removal, where you would arrange all the packing and transport for moving house - and a full service removal, where a moving company does all the packing as well as transportation.
With self pack removals you have a shipping container delivered to your door - you pack it yourself, in your own time. The self pack removalist then returns to pick it up when you're ready and transports it interstate to your new home where it is once again delivered for you to unpack. Storage at any step is a cinch as your belongings can all stay put in the shipping container for however long you need - there's no double packing / unpacking procedure that you would have to deal with when using a storage unit.
So how much does it cost? See below for our costs for some of the more common routes within Australia.
