Pelicans

I adore Pelicans.
The varying shapes they adopt with their long flexible necks and huge beaks.
They waddle across the sand, yet glide so gracefully through the water.
Watching them in flight is something else. It is awe inspiring. They will stand quietly and patiently waiting for cast off fish scraps, while seagulls shriek noisily and greedily around their heads.
Sometimes when life has been difficult or I am feeling a bit low, I will grab my camera and drive ten minutes down the road to the Hastings pier.
The mere sight of these wonderful birds is always uplifting.
