Victorian mother wins Business Partner of the Year.
Victoria’s Maz Romandini is the winner of the 2010 HIA Australian Housing Awards’ Business Partner of the Year award.
The winner was unveiled today before a crowd of hundreds of industry leaders at the prestigious awards ceremony held at the Gold Coast Convention Centre.
The HIA-CSR Australian Housing Awards recognise the nation’s top builders and designers. Winners are selected from a list of state-based finalists, with awards delivered in 18 separate categories. This award, partnered by Vodafone, recognises the nation’s best business partner in residential building.
Maz Romandini is both office and marketing manager at Romandini Cabinets. She started the company 12 years ago with her husband. Maz isn’t afraid to take on a hands-on approach to the job. Before the business was big enough to hire staff, she took on tasks such as assembling drawer units herself.
Maz also keeps busy outside work with three young children, charity work and as a music reviewer for Universal Music.
The judges described Maz as a ‘well-rounded individual who fits into every aspect of the business’.
HIA Managing Director Shane Goodwin said the HIA-CSR Australian Housing Awards were growing in popularity each year and reflected the increasingly diverse and competitive Australian housing industry.
“I would like to congratulate all our award winners who really do represent the ‘best in the business’,” Mr Goodwin said. “Each year a higher calibre of entries is presented, making the judging process tougher, and reflecting general improvements in quality and design.”
“The Australian home is no longer a standard brick veneer on a big block. The common link with all our award winners is architecturally innovative designs, the attention to quality, detail and workmanship and a genuine focus on sustainability,” Mr Goodwin said.
HIA is Australia’s peak building industry body representing more than 40,000 builders, suppliers and contractors involved in residential construction. The housing awards are held annually. This year’s guest at the awards was Housing Minister Tanya Plibersek.
Judged by industry professionals, the awards acknowledge the talent of designers, builders and building companies who plan and construct quality new housing, apartments, renovations, kitchens and bathrooms.
